Remake Yourself

Remake Yourself (and a link to a great giveaway)

Yes, I'm a little bit nervous as I write this post, being that it is my very first one ever. It seems as though this past year has been filled with moments like these. It has been very exciting however.

I started Moments In Time doing some digital scrapbooks for others and had a few friends convince me to actually get paid for it. I started going to shows, but found myself sitting there promoting while everyone around me was selling, so I decided to start making and selling personalized altered notebooks. A wonderful shop Gifted Hands opened up in our area that sold only handmade items.

A friend set up a meeting with the owner and she liked my books, so I rented some space and moved in a week later. It was fun, but I really wanted to make something that was inspirational that people would want in their homes.

I love photography, especially playing with the unedited photos. The owner of the store talked with me about doing some Letter Photography and it just hit home with me. I was excited immediately. So my husband Jason and I set out in downtown Pittsburgh with our cameras and just started shooting. We were able to get some really great pictures to make up our "Pittsburgh Series" of Letter Photography. What a great time to launch the series with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Superbowl and yes there are letters that are made from photos of Heinz Field!

I started with prints of inspirational words like Family, Faith, Hope, Love, and some personalized wedding gifts. They are listed on my Etsy site http://www.etsy.com/shop/momentsintimedigital and I am uploading new prints every couple of days.

You would think that would be enough, but I literally woke up one morning and had the idea to make Dessert Pedestals. I couldn't shake the idea, so Precious Pedestals was born as well.

I love what I've been doing and it has certainly been a journey over the past year. It has been freeing to remake myself  as I journey down this road. I'm hoping to have interviews with talented artisans, introduce you to inspirational and beautiful handmade items, do a few giveaways, and have some DIY projects listed here.  I have no idea what this year holds, but I'm just going to hold on tight and go for it!
